Under this transformative agreement, Newmont has committed to an annual contribution of $200,000 over the next five years, totaling an impressive $1 million. This commitment reflects Newmont's dedication to making a positive impact on over 10 million people globally through its partnership with Project C.U.R.E.

Suzy Retallack, Newmont’s Chief Safety and Sustainability Officer, expressed pride in the collaboration, stating, "Creating a positive impact on more than 10 million people globally, through our partnership with Project C.U.R.E., is something we are incredibly proud of." This partnership, spanning nearly two decades, has consistently delivered support to host communities near Newmont's operations and around the world.

A History of Impactful Initiatives:

Since 2005, Newmont's collaboration with Project C.U.R.E. has resulted in the distribution of over $42 million worth of crucial medical supplies and equipment. Key highlights of this enduring partnership include:

  1. Funding 108 shipping containers of medical equipment to 36 countries.

  2. Impacting over two million patients through support of the C.U.R.E. Cargo program.

  3. Training more than 440 medical professionals in resource-limited environments to reduce neonatal and maternity morbidity and mortality.

  4. Contributing $5 million to support humanitarian efforts related to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

  5. Delivering 164 C.U.R.E. kits to healthcare facilities in various countries through Newmont employees.

Dr. Douglas Jackson, President and CEO of Project C.U.R.E., commended the partnership, stating, "In countries like Ghana and Suriname and now Mexico, Guatemala, and others, we have established a figurative gold standard for corporate social responsibility."

Global Volunteerism:

They dedicate hundreds of hours to activities such as sorting supplies at the Project C.U.R.E. warehouse, packing and unloading containers, and carrying medical kits to communities near Newmont operations.
