Markel expands global terrorism offering with senior North America leader

Markel, the insurance arm of Markel Group Inc. (NYSE: MKL), has announced the appointment of Andrew Umphress as the Head of Terrorism for North America. This strategic move underscores Markel's commitment to expanding its service spectrum to clients throughout North America in light of the escalating geopolitical uncertainties worldwide.

Andrew Umphress will be stationed at Markel's New York office and will report to Ed Winter, the Director of Terrorism based in London. Umphress will join a proficient and seasoned global underwriting team, assuming responsibility for overseeing Markel's terrorism portfolio within the region. Additionally, he will continue to foster the growth of the Active Assailant product. With his substantial leadership background and profound sector expertise, Umphress is poised to assist Markel's North American clients in comprehending and navigating risks within the evolving landscape of warfare, terrorism, and political violence.
